Introducing the Web Companion
The Gospel of Matthew's Dependence on the Didache is a stand-alone volume. However, this web companion is designed to improve the accessibility of the book and the clarity of its arguments by providing the following additional features: 1) The Reader's Guide notes how to get an impression of the book's central argument before reading its more detailed arguments. It also highlights passages of potential interest to readers whose principal concern may not be Matthew's relationship to the Didache. 2) A Detailed Table of Contents provides an additional means by which readers may identify passages of particular interest. 3) Greek and English texts of the Didache. Because the pages of a printed book must be bound together, it isn't always convenient to consult the text of the Didache at the front of the volume, while considering arguments presented in the body of the book. The web companion provides printable copies of these texts. 4) Colour Texts. Several chapters of the book contain parallel texts and diagrams that are most readily appreciated when printed in colour. To augment the black and white versions in the bound copy, therefore, the web companion provides printable colour versions. |
